MONTREEA
The Story Behind the Music
Montreea is a vocalist, songwriter, producer, and music creative whose journey has taken her from church stages in the South to national television, international releases, and recording studios around the world.

Born in Monroe, Louisiana and based in Houston, Texas, Montreea began studying classical music at age ten. She later graduated with honors from the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts before attending Berklee College of Music in Boston, where she studied Music Business and Audio Engineering.
Her career has never fit into one box. Under the stage name Miss Money, Montreea built a name as a bold and creative force in music, earning recognition from the Black Heritage Society, a Texas Lifetime Achievement Award, and the Houston Chronicle, which named her the “Ultimate Musical Multitasker.”
Her work and story have also been featured in film, television, radio, and major publications.
In 2010, Montreea won the Houston finals of the Most Powerful Voices competition. In 2013, she beat out thousands of singers to appear on BET’s Sunday Best, later touring across the country and continuing to grow as both a vocalist and songwriter.
As a writer and performer, Montreea has contributed to records for DJs, producers, and labels across the U.S. and Europe, with releases connected to house, gospel, soul, R&B, and dance music. Her music reflects resilience, honesty, and a deep love for the craft.
Today, Montreea continues to create as an artist, songwriter, and producer, blending powerful vocals, emotional storytelling, and years of experience into music that is honest, soulful, and real.
